21/05/2007 Things are going great!!!!! The anticipation of summer is rising by the day. The Strawberries are flying! Flowers are showing and the plants have tripled in size in the last few weeks.
I was given some Sweetcorn, Bell Peppers, Moneymaker Tomatoes, Gherkin and Squash plants. The Bell Peppers have all gone into pots.
The Potatoes are all healthy. The Runner Beans have reached the top ot the wigwam. I added an Aubergene plant from the local garden centre. I made another wigwam for the Tomato plants. Not sure if this is really the done thing, but what the hell !!!.
I planted out 4 Corgette plants. Unfortunately, the dog buried her bone in one of the growbag cutouts, resulting in me only having 3 Corgettes left :)
F1 Tumblers all looking well advanced. Flowers showing on all 4.
More Tomatoes along with Squash, Gherkin and Cucumber (l-r).
The Sweetcorn plants have ben planted direct into a reclaimed flower bed.
The Veg Patch - Onions looking healthy. I lost a Broccoli plant, but 4 still remain. The Dwarf French Beans seemed to freeze when initially planted out, but thankfully they are now bushing out nicely. Flower buds are showing..
The row of Carrots are doing well in the sunnier side of the plot with patchier results in the more shaded area. Either way, I sense that I will need to thin them out really soon.
Still inside the house are the Celery and Leeks. I am tempted to ditch the Celery due to reading about the method of growing them. Seems a bit complicated. We'll see :) As for the Leeks, I think that they will be going in the plot this weekend(if I get chance). Happy Days!!
