Kinmel Bay - 06/11/2006 |

Venue - Kinmel Bay With the large tides this weekend, I was looking forward to giving Kinmel Bay yet another go. I hadn't blanked here for ages, infact whenever I fish here without Sinbad, I seem to catch! :)
I got out on Saturday afternoon to pump some lug. I managed about 30 worms so I was able to fish 2 rods today and be generous with the bait. The lug was complimented by my current favourite, Frozen Sandeel. The doggies favourite, apparantly!
I arrived 2 hours before high. There was a slight westerly wind of yesterday had shifted to a SW wind this morning. There was a fair surf rolling in.
Both rods were cast out. One at range, the other just plopped into the inner gulley. Both with 2 hook rigs baited with Fresh Lug. All was quiet. Very quiet! I was joined by a lone swan for a while.
High tide came and went. Still no bites. I had experimented with the Sandeel, but like the Lug, there was no interest. Time for Plan B! Plan B was to pack up and spend the afternoon in the cinema:) After a quick fish and chip lunch, it was off to The Apollo to watch 'Saw 3'.
Having had the living daylights scared out of me, I finished off a couple of bottles of Lambrusco and a pint of milk behind the cinema before taking in one of the nicest sunsets I have seen in ages.
The lesson of today is 'Always have a Plan B'! Happy Days!!
