Kinmel Bay - 07/01/2007 |

Venue - Kinmel Bay I fished 2 hrs before to 2hrs after high tide today. The wind was coming off the land as it has been for what seems like months now. There was a fair surf rolling in and the sea was showing some colour. Again no fresh bait but I had a selection of standbys including the lug I salted and froze last summer.
I fished the beachcaster at range and the spinning rod as far as it would cast a 3oz gripper, which wasn't very far :) As usual, there were no other fishermen out, so with the choice of the whole beach, I set up at the usual spot, just before the yellow house.
No sign of any bites for the first hour, but did have a small Flounder 1hr before high. Caught on the frozen lug tipped with squid.
High tide came and went and not much else to report. Hoping for the chance of a codling, I did switch to a larger pennel rig and baited up with a coctail of lug, sandeel and squid. No joy on this though.
That was it! The Flounder saved the blank. My mission to catch a Codling at this venue continues........ Happy Days!!
