Kinmel Bay - 09/09/2007 |

Venue - Kinmel Bay With the wind in my face I arrived at Kinmel Bay to be presented with textbook Bass conditions.
Having heard of a double figure Bass coming out of Prestatyn last week, I was targetting only one thing today. With the conditions as they were, I was using a 6oz gripper with a 2 up, 1 down flapper. Fresh Lug on 2 hooks and Mackerel on the 3rd. I was able to hold bottom. The weed wasn't a problem. The only issues I had were the occasional plastic bag catching on my line and sweeping my rig inshore rapidly. I fished 1hr before to 1hr after high. My rod tip was being buffeted by the wind and the surf so there was no hope of me spotting a bite unless it was a decent fish.
Sadly, no decent fish showed! Infact, nothing showed :) It feels like, and probably is, months since I last caught a fish from a beach. Am I disheartened? Absolutely not! To be stood on a deserted beach in such exhilerating conditions was reward enough. Despite my philosophic approach, the blanking still continues!!!!! Happy Days!! |
