Kinmel Bay - 26/12/2007 |
||
|
Venue - Kinmel Bay I couldn't think of a better way to spend a mild Boxing Day morning than sneeking out for a few hours peace and quiet on Kinmel Bay beach. I fished 1hr before to 1hr after high. A mild SW wind was keeping things both calm and fairly warm. There was a very slight surf.
3 hook flappers with Lug tipped with Mackerel were used on both rods today. A 4oz gripper was used on the beachcaster, with a little 1/2oz bomb just enough to cast out the 8lb Crystal Fireline mainline on the spinning rod.
Father Christmas had rewarded my previous 12 months good behaviour by presenting me with a new cotton smock and a pair of Rigger Boots.
The smock was comfortable and gave good mobility whilst the Rigger boots kept my feet nice and toasty. It will be interesting to see how the boots fare when the temperature drops though. High tide came and went with no bites. 30mins after high and the first bite of the day resulted in a small Whiting on the beachcaster.
Next cast and this time a double header. Again, small Whiting.
By now, my 2 hour pass had expired and it was time to head home after a thoroughly enjoyable little session. Total for the day was 3 Whiting. All caught at range. Happy Days!! |
