Sunny Rhyl Sea Fishing Diary

Kinmel Bay - 29/09/2007

Venue - Kinmel Bay
Tide - High
Time - Day
Bait: Fresh Lug, Ragworm, Peeler Crab, Frozen Mackerel, Frozen Sandeel
Event - Swazaid Charity Fish + Meet

8 people fished this charity Fish + Meet.

With 8 rods out, more than Kinmel Bay beach had seen for many a year, today was going to show just what this venue can produce.

Things were quiet for the first hour.

A couple of nibbles were reported but nothing hooked.

1hr before high, NotBadLad had a good knock.

Result was a Bass estimated at 2lb, caught on fresh Lugworrm.

Our spirits were raised by this.

We continued with renewed vigour.

It was slow from there on in. Very slow.

There was plenty of time to have a natter.

Unfortunately, that was it.

With the only fish of the day, NotBadLad took the winners prizes.

The real winner today though was 'Swazaid'. A North Wales Charity supporting the orphans in Swaziland.

In all, we collectively raised just under £150 for this amazingly worthy cause.

With no takers for the runners up prizes, we may well have another meet to further support this charity.

Headwyn suggested a night match to increase the catch rate. I'll keep you posted on this.

Thank you for all attending and donating.

There were others that popped along, said hello and left a donation. It was great to meet you all.

Thanks to Headwyn for sorting out the competitive aspects of todays meet. I wouldn't have known where to start.

Especial praise has to go to Ray at Victoria Pier Angling who donated such a great array of prizes for todays event.

Happy Days!!
