Llandudno Pier - 14/03/2007 |

Venue - Llandudno Pier It was my first time fishing Landudno Pier. I had never fancied the cramped fishing conditions of the end platform, so since opening up the length of the Pier again, I was keen to give it a go. Having heard about the tackle graveyard at the end, I decided to have a stress free night and fish halfway along.
I fished 2 rods. My 15ft Fladen Warbird with Shakespeare fixed spool reel along with my Conolon uptider with my latest ebay purchase, a Penn 320 GTI.
A 3 hook paternoster with size 6 hooks was dropped over the side on the Conolon. A 3 hook flapper with size 2's was cast out with the Warbird. Darkness approached and I didn't have to wait long for the first bite.
The Conolon was twitching away and the first fish of the session was landed. A small Codling caught on frozen Lug. Another Codling from under the pier. This time caught on Mackerel.
Again the Conolon was busy, another Codling taking a fancy to the frozen Lug.
I switched to the other side of the pier and the Codling bites disappeared to be replaced with a few missed Doggie(?) bites. Shortly before packing up, the small Pollack made an appearance.
Nobody else fishing tonight. The only other person I saw was the security guard who was both professional and courteous. Bites had been steady throughout the evening. I lost more fish than I caught. I had several good fish drop off on the lift up. The frozen Lug and Mack did the biz! No luck on the Sandeel though. The final tally was 5 Codling and 3 Pollack.
