Sunny Rhyl Sea Fishing Diary

Llandudno North Shore - 14/07/2006

Venue - Llandudno North Shore
Tide - High
Time - Day
Bait: Feathers

The sun was shining, there was a gentle breeze, what better way to spend the afternoon than a spot of Mackerel bashing on Llandudno North Shore!

There were plenty of car parking spaces, so I decided to pull over and fish 200 yards east of the paddling pool. My plans were to fish 2 rods. 1 baited and the other ready with feathers should the Mackerel show up.

I fished from 2 hours before to 2 hours after high. My lug and rag baits didn't last long. The crabs were out in force. I landed 6 crabs from 8 casts. Adding to my frustration was the weed. Retrieval was a nightmare. It was like dragging in a hanging basket!!

There were about 30 people fishing. Most were fishing feathers. After an hour of no bites to my baited pennel rig, I decided to join them.

What great fun!!!!!!!

Caught about 12 mackerel in all. Most bites came very close in on the retrieve.

I'll definately be back before the summer is out!
