"Give a Chicken a Chance"

After a pretty traumatic day all round, it was fantastic to open the door on the hen house this morning to find our 4 new additions all active.

To cap it all, we were rewarded with our first egg. A monster it was too!

Tentatively, they ventured out ot their house to commence the first day of the rest of their lives.

The smallest, and baldest hen, was first to venture down the step and discover the delights of 'plants'.

By the end of the afternoon, all 4 were enjoying spreading their wings in the sunshine.

A couple started to scratch the earth and delve into whatever was underneath.

The green leaves were a big hit. Eventually, all 4 hens were devouring any living green thing.

They don't seem bothered by the family at all. No fears or anxieties appear present when we approach.

Alltogether a fantastic and deeply touching day for us and what seems like a magnificent day for the 4 ladies concerned.
