"Give a Chicken a
Chance"
Just a brief update today. All 4 hens are doing great. The last few days of true free-ranging has seen all 4 scratchng and unearthing worms + grubs. A healthy helping greens are also supplementing their diet. The latest developments in the hen house are very encouraging. We are getting 3 eggs a day from them. 2 are laid in the nest boxes and 1 hen seems to like a nice shady bush outside. The sleeping arrangements are the most exciting though. All 4 were queing up to slepp in the nest boxes until 4 dys ago, 1 started to perch! Not on the lovely perch rail I had built, oh no! Instead, the dividing gate that I installed to keep the hens from my toolstore and indeed their foodstore was being used as a perch. Tonight, there were 2 hens perching on the gate!!!
