Sunny Rhyl Sea Fishing Diary

Splash Point, Rhyl - 21/05/2006

Had some week old worms stinking out the fridge, so I thought I would nip out onto Rhyl Beach this evening for an hour or so. Arrived at high tide and fished for an hour and a half after.

Taking Del's advice from a few days ago I was using a 6oz gripper with a 3/0 Pennel baited with 2 lugworms.
The strong winds of the last few days had disappeared and the sea was calm with a gentle surf.

I was just about to pack up when I had a small knock followed swiftly by a larger rap then nothing. I left it for about 10 seconds and took up the slack, then I felt the knocking. Resulted in a Bass of about 1.5lb.

After returning him to his family I had a celebratory ciggie before calling it a day just as the rain set in.
