Sunny Rhyl Sea Fishing Diary

Marina Wall , Rhyl - 01/10/2007

Venue - Rhyl, Marina Wall
Tide - 2Hrs after High
Time - Day
Bait: Maggot

Having read many recent reports regarding the Mullet in Rhyl Harbour, today I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

Armed with a Carp Controller, Leger Stops and some size 8 hooks with polythene whipped on to aid flotation.

I stopped off at Geoffs and picked up some white 'wiggly' things.

I arrived at the harbour to face a Westerly wind, with the tide on it's way out.

My lightest rod was used to flick 2 Maggot baited hook upstream..

With the wind on line and strong tidal flow, my float setup was flying past me repeatedly at a great rate of knots.

Time and time again, my rig did the trip from Suveran, past Supreme and quickly coming to rest in the muddy bank.

Colmac turned up to groundbait the swim. With many years of coarse fishing experience, he offered some great tips and info.

I gave it half an hour, but with nothing showing, I headed home to do some more research.

Happy Days !!!!!!!!!!
