Splash Point , Rhyl - 04/08/2007 |

Venue - Rhyl, Splash Point I returned with little real hope armed with a dodgy refrozen pack of Lug. My bait was supplemented with a frozen Razor Clam donated by a friendly fellow fisherman. It was dead on high when I arrived. I decided to see if there were any Mackerel were about. Sadly not! I switched to the Razor at range. I set up the spinning rod and tried with the Dexter Wedge. Again no joy either. I tried Lug on the beachcaster but still no luck. As a last gasp attempt for anything, I un-packed Headwyn's patented rotton bottom, small hook rig. Stuck on a sliver of Razor Clam and plopped it 3yds out into the fringe of rocks. Seconds later, the unbelievable happened! I had caught a fish over high at Splash Point! Only small, but a fish nonetheless. I reckon it was a Shanny.
James Ball, if you are reading this................... I've finally done it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. That's one more thing to cross off the 'Things to do before I die' list. Apologies for the lack of images. My battery was practically dead. Luckily just enough juice left to photo the fish :) Happy Days !!!!!!!!!!
