Sunny Rhyl Sea Fishing Diary

Splash Point , Rhyl - 05/08/2007

Venue - Rhyl, Splash Point
Tide - Low
Time - Day
Bait: Fresh Lug, Dexter Wedge

I arrived at low water and immediately set about finding some bait.

With not many worms showing, it was a bit of a struggle, but eventually I had enough for at least a few hours fishing.

I cast out a 3 hook flapper, with 1/0's baited with half a worm on each hook.

I setup the spinning rod and gave the Dexter Wedge a go.

A nice way to spend a sunny summers day, but there was nothing doing on the spinner.

The baited rod was equally quiet.

The tide was pushing me back and I cast out another fresh trio of worms and walked it back.

I had a small twitch that led to me reeling in.

Definately something on, but alas it was lost halfway in.

A tightly tangled rig had 'Eel' written all over it.

There ware 3 other lads out.

It was a similar story for them. They had a Silver Eel but not much else.

I decided to throw in the towel when I got frustrated at the umteenth holiday bather decided to take paddle right infront of my rod.

I guess that's to be expected fishing here on a Sunday in the middle of Summer.

Happy Days !!!!!!!!!!
