Splash Point , Rhyl - 16/12/2007 |

Venue - Rhyl, Splash Point 3 pairs of socks, a pair of long johns and 3 fleece's were all used today to supplement my usual winter wear. On arrival, it was a pleasant surprise to see Mehmet, The Rhyl Maestro with a rod out.
The sea was flat calm, with a gentle, if bracing, SE breeze making it feel crisp to say the least. Frozen Lug tipped with Frozen Mackerel was used on a 3 hook flapper, with a 4oz gripper cast out with the trusty Fladen Warbird.
Having had a few great sessions here recently, was Splashpoint still Dab City or was the party over?
The first hour was quiet, with only Mehmet having a solitary knock that didn't come to anything. My first bit of excitement came 1hr after low. A couple of twitches and a Dab mean't that braving the cold had been worthwhile.
Next cast and another Dab made things look very promising indeed.
The following hour brought regular bites that I just couldn't connect with. A handful of Mussels detatched from their mooring made for a welcome addition to my frozen bait stock.
Mehmet had another bite later on, but it was to turn out to be a fairly quiet day for the pair of us.
I eventually had to call it a day when the feeling in my toes had disappeared totally. My 3 pairs of socks just couldn't keep the cold at bay! Total for the day was 2 Dabs. Happy Days !!!!!!!!!!
