Bait: Fresh Lug, Frozen Mackerel, Frozen Sandeel
I'd had a few too many drinks the night before, so I had no option to
drive anywhere. So it was a bleary eyed yomp down to Splash Point for a
hangover cure.
2 rods were set up. A 3 hook flapper on one and a clipped down pennel on the other. With some fresh Lug tipped with a bit of Mackerel onboard, the rigs were cast seawards
'The Rhyl Maestro', Mehmet, was out !!!! Armed with more bait than your average tackle shop, he was out for the duration.
The weather was kind to us. Unfortunately, the fish weren't as generous!
High tide approached without a sniff.
I lasted till 2 hrs after high. No bites, no fish!!!!!
I left Mehmet to fish the tide out as I headed home for a much needed fry up.
