Splash Point , Rhyl - 26/03/2007 |

Venue - Rhyl, Splash Point Armed with some fresh Mackerel and large Squid, I headed to Geoff's tackle shop for some fresh Lug.
With the bait sorted, Splash Point was just a short drive away. The beachcaster was set up along with my little spinning rod for close range work.
With 3 hook flappers all round, various combinations of the bait were tried.
Low tide came and went without a sniff! It was a cracking day, which kept my mind off the lack of action.
At last, some company!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, on my last cast of the day, a small flounder took a fancy to a Mackerel offering at range.
That was it. Fantastic to fish in, if not for the quality of fishing, but just being out on an empty beach on a beautiful early summers day. I've said it before and I will say it again, Rhyl is not without its issues, but don't believe everything you read. For the most part, Rhyl remains a well kept secret!!!! Happy Days !!!!!!!!!!
