Sunny Rhyl Sea Fishing Diary

The Alex , Rhyl - 13/04/2008

Venue - Rhyl, Alex
Tide - Low
Time - Day
Bait: Fresh Lug.

I joined 'The Rhyl Maestro' for a lesson in fishing the Alex gullys.

With freshly dug Lug onboard and a gentle surf rolling in, I was hopeful, if not confident, of breaking what seems like a neverending run of blanks.

2 rods were cast out with flappers and 4oz grippers.

Mehmet signalled a fish with his first cast. I arrived to see him landing a nice Turbot.

Typically, I was quiet.

Cast after cast I had no interest in the Fresh Lug.

The tide eventually pushed us back to fish the inner gully.

With no noticeable bite, I reeled in to feel a 'tiny' bit of resistance.

Resulting in a micro Flounder.

At last a fish!!!!!!!!

Always one to finish on a high, I decided to leave Mehmet and head off home into the sunset.

Happy Days !!!!!!!!!!
